Text Amendments
Just as with the "Official Zoning Maps," the zoning resolution or "text" may be amended. Any
citizen of Macon and Bibb County, property owner, or their agent, and the Planning and Zoning
Commission may request an amendment to the text of the Land Development Resolution.
All amendments to the resolution must include a WRITTEN STATEMENT GIVING THE REASONS FOR THE
PROPOSED CHANGE. In case of additions to or changes in, the existing wording, the text of the
change shall be in the style and format of the existing resolution.
Procedure for Text Amendment in Macon and Bibb County
1) Application must be submitted 45 days prior to hearing.
2) Zoning Enforcement Officer checks application and proposed Amendment form to determine conformity to
regulation. Legal ad appears in newspaper 20 day, prior to hearing.
3) Hearing are held the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. The Commission reviews application and either
approves, disapproves or defers.
4) Commission Secretarty Records decision. I approved the Comprehensive Land Development Reoulution
will updated t reflect the change.
5) If denied any person, firm or corporation aggrieved by decision of the Commission shall have the right of
appeal and the appeal shall be taken byWrit of Certiorari, as provided by law.
